short-circuit and earth fault indicator is a set of accessory device installed in RMU for Cable Branch box and Transformer Substation of Power Distribution System of 6KV-22KV, is used to monitor and indicate short-circuit and earth fault of corresponding cable sections. When single phase earth fault and short-circuit happened, the indicating light will flash and alarm. The operator can confirm the fault type, fault area and find out fault point according to the alarm indication, which will improve the work efficiency and play a very important role on power supply reliability.
1. detection principle:
The whole device is composed of 3 pcs of short-circuit indicators ,1 pc of earth fault indicator and 1 pc of panel indicator. short-circuit indicators is for detection of cable short-circuit fault,earth fault indicator is for detection of cable earth fault. After fault been detected, the detected signal will be transmitted to panel indicator to alarm by flashlight of LEDS
2. short-circuit indicator detection principle:
It adopts over-current detection method. When cable sudden change current is above the setting value,the alarm signal will be transmitted and outputted to tell the short-circuit indication
3. earth fault detection principle:
It adopts the detection way of a setting value in relay protection.When detects cable zero-current is above the setting value,the alarm signal will be transmitted and outputted to tell the earth fault indication
1. Short-circuit alarm indication
The short-circuit sensor detects line current during works, when short-circuit happened, the current reaches or exceeds a certain setting value of short-circuit, the sensor will send alarm signal and transmit the signal to host by optical fiber, the host will generate corresponding alarm indication signal after receiving the signal.
2. Earth fault alarm indication
The earthed sensor detects line zero-sequence current during works, when earth fault happened, the earthed current reaches or exceeds a certain setting value of earth fault, the sensor will send alarm signal and transmit the information to host by optical fiber, the host will generate corresponding alarm indication signal after receiving the alarm signal.
3. Reset automatically
when indicator transmit alarm signals, the indicator can reset automatically by itself after a setting duration if no person to make reset.
4. Personnel reset:
after indicator alarm, the alarm can be removed by press on the button of “reset/test” for 2 seconds on host panel of indicator.
5. alarm remote transmission/ reset function :
After the indicator generates corresponding alarm signal, the alarm signal can be output and remotely transmitted. Indicators also can receive remote reset signal to make reset operation for indicators.
self-checking can be realized for panel indicator by pressing on button of “reset/test” button
