This kind of device is applied to the overhead power distribution network automatic system from 6KV to 35KV,is used to improve the safe and reliable operating performance through centralized monitoring the current, temperature and fault condition on the power distribution circuit.
when phase-to-phase short-circuit happens, it is equivalent to directly connected between two power, there will be a very large current flowing through the return circuit of substation and fault point, meantime, the relay protection equipment in the substation will start on protection according to the well-setting rules, which will make the lines switch off. So there are 4 conditions to judge the short-circuit fault as following:
1) there is electricity in line
2) a sudden change large current is above a certain value (this value can be set by actual condition after leaving factory)
3) The large current duration time is not more than 3 seconds 0.02s≤△T≤3s, △T is duration of sudden change current.
4) the line will be in the state of power off in 3 seconds.
When it meets all the four conditions above, the indicators can judge the short-circuit happened in this line and send the fault information to central station.
Live install for Communicable FCI:
Open the package, each FCI and DTU has its own serial number, is installed on different sites. Please install according to this instruction as following:
Make bracket fix on the hot stick through joint bolt, each lateral pin in both sides are dragged outwards, which make the baffle in both sides pop-up automatically. Use hands tightly screw the jackscrew and make the jackscrew up to the bar under the baseboard, make sure the baseboard fixed on the top position.
Lift the compressed spring by hands, push it in the direction of arrowhead into the slot of plastic shrapnel. Hook up another compressed spring in
the other side in the same way.
Lift up the bracket which is together with the indicator, push it up towards the overhead line, after the compressed spring clipping the lines, take away the hot stick with the bracket, then the installation is finished.
Notice: strictly prohibit persons from sitting under the indicators during the installation process so as not to be injured.
Special Notice: please make good records for the install site and indicator codes.
DTU: installed on the pole same with the FCI or near the FCI, fixed by the hoop directly, 100m away from the FCI at most.
DTU is mainly a solar control box. Open package, each solar control box has different code, install as the following instructions:
Open the DTU, then open the power switch, the power control indicator, solar panel indicator and load indicator will be flashing, which means the DTU is in a normal state, close DTU and lock it. Take off the screws connected with the holder of solar panel and fix the solar panel.
Take down the screw nut of screw rod on hoop, install the hoop on pole, connect Data Terminal Unit tightly through screw rod and hoop which can be relatively rotating on pole, turn the Data Terminal Unit to south by west direction of 10 degrees,(rotation angle is allowed to the derivation of ±10°.then screw tightly the hoop and DTU. Make sure fixed well.
1. No persons should stand under the device for fear of been injured.
2.make good records of the DTU code and its installed site.
